Testing for Intelligence?

Testing for Intelligence?

Intelligence is more than the knowledge of how much you know but also the abilities one can perform. There are often people that we can identify as exceptional just by seeing them or talking to them; Justifiably so there are people that we encounter that even as a child can blow us away with their unique intelligence. What is interesting to some people are not for others. Just as what is difficult for someone may be very easy for someone else. My question is how do we justify testing for intelligence? How do you put an intelligence label on someone by a test score? The person being tested may be nervous or excited which would alter their score. I don’t feel that a score should label an individual as exceptional in either way. If we are going to test a person’s intelligence I feel that there should be another way to do it.

Many people argue that culture is highly influential in IQ testing. I understand that the reasoning behind that could be because people in different cultures practice different things. I just don’t feel that it should be a deciding factor in someone’s IQ scores. I research other countries ways of doing IQ testing; however, most of my findings included that most countries did use the same IQ testing that we use the Welchers exams.
