Getting to Know Your International Contacts—Part 1

Save our Children
This week I reviewed podcast on the save our children website. I found so many interesting stories that tend to humble you into a more compassionate person. I am very compassionate person; however, seeing the conditions in which some people live will definitely make you more considerate.
Child Friendly Spaces
In the Philippines after the typhoon, children just ran around within the rummage. They were subjected to disease and illness. Then people from the save our children organization came in and provided a safe place for them to play. They have a fund that you can donate to entitle: Typhoon Haiyan Children’s Relief Fund.
Hunger and livelihoods
This podcast made me cry. It showed how families don’t know how they will get their next meal to feed their families. Its mission is to help families provide for their children to ensure a better health for their families. This program not only helps feed these families it provides education to them. They help educate the families on health topics such as sanitation.

I have learn so many things from these podcast! I know that it has humbled me to a great understanding of issues around the world. I have set up for my children to donate to these causes. I have discussed with them the need and the importance of not wasting food.
